Johnson Oil Co. was founded in 1972 by Rodney Johnson as a Standard Oil Jobber, supplying fuel, oil, and gasoline to the Rolette community. In the late 1970s, the business expanded with the opening of its current retail location. Along with fuel, Johnson Oil Co. began offering agricultural chemicals and seed to better serve farmers. In 2014, longtime employee Dean Block, who first joined the company in 1987, purchased Johnson Oil Co. Under his leadership, the business has continued to grow, including the addition of a seed treating facility. Today, Johnson Oil Co. remains committed to providing reliable products and trusted service to the producers and customers of Rolette.
